Tonia Gkogkou

With more than 27 years of experience as a strategic communications advisor, Tonia Gkogkou has developed and enhanced dialogue with government bodies and local authorities on behalf of a wide range of multinational and leading Greek companies.
She has extensive expertise in issue and crisis management, having led the design and production of crisis management manuals for industries such as manufacturing, energy, FMCG, and retail, as well as the planning and execution of crisis management exercises.
Tonia has led corporate communication campaigns focused on local communities, corporate identity repositioning, and government relations. She has implemented numerous strategic mapping and stakeholder engagement projects in public affairs, successfully integrating clients into think tanks and social partner networks such as BusinessEurope.
Currently, she serves as General Manager of V+O’s international operations, overseeing the growth and expansion of V+O offices in six Southeast European countries and leading a team of 50 talented communications professionals.
She holds a BA in History and Political Science from the American College of Greece (Deree) and an MSc in Post-Soviet and Russian Diplomatic Studies from the London School of Economics (UK).
Tonia has authored a chapter on communication and crisis management included in “The Green Crisis” by Assistant Professor Ioannis Zabetakis (University of Athens). She previously worked in public affairs for the DDB Group and has collaborated with political parties, designing international campaigns with Ketchum PR.
